I learned to do a new thing!

Yay. It took a while to make and putting the gold leaf on was a pain and I panicked because at first the mass looked awful until I cleaned it out and painted it red to give the gold a warmer shine since the red shows through a bit and then when it was finished it looked so good and amazing and I'm amazing and... Yay.

The planet has once again revolved around the sun. This led the locals to partake in generous consumption of alcohol and ignite crude explosives. For festive reasons. Please forward a message to Mission Controls Supply Detail, that my request for earplugs can be ignored. I've made due with the indigenous variant.

Now then, my longest project to date: my very first glass cabinet.

I started out by drawing several objects to define the size of the vitrine.

 I hadn't drawn in a while so I kept it simplistic.

It was a good decision since I ended up having to make quite a few of them.

I then painted the outside of the case a couple of times so that when I started carving markings on it, I wouldn't be carving out the wood. Pine nowadays is too fragile and useless, being grown on fertile soil, fast. It would've come out in large chunks and ruin the work.

The white detail in the frame was originally a red line running all the way around the otherwise black and gold frame, I ended up covering it and drawing new details to better fit with the rest of the work.

Plain old cotton wool, glued to the bottom, I painted the side of case black on the inside as well. The bottom didn't look good with, hence the wool. Learning to cover up your mistakes is the first step on the road to making no mistakes. I think.

I painted the night sky on the back wall to inspire a dreamlike landscape. The starting idea was to make scene from a child's tale or a fable. 

I feel I succeeded well enough in my goal. Now to find it a home in my apartment.

Another quick one, we all know the drill now.

Both are printed on cloth so they first had to be sown on a board to make them presentable.

Once again, they go to a client, at least the works are mine as well so might even get paid well this time, or nah.

A quick one this time, two works.

Not much to say about these ones, a fishing line was used to sow the cloth onto the board, so that it could be admired in all its splendor. And glass on top so no filthy, dirty hand can soil it.

Yea, I've got nothing.

After the better suited frames were chosen, they were implemented with love and caring, with the integrity of the works in mind.

A noticeable improvement on the old pieces of driftwood suffocating these paintings, I'd say.

The client was very happy with them too, which is nice.

Captain's Log 3

A whole month has passed, I was called back to the Galactic fleets outpost orbiting at the very edge of this solar system shortly after my last update. I was given the strongest immuno shots devised by our sharpest scientists to better battle the local bacteria. The most notable downside of these was a very steep decline in my ability to record memories and make sound judgments in critical situations. Thankfully my objective to further mix into this planets population was not harmed by my condition. I've begun courting one of the local females, in hopes of learning more about them, of course. The concept of this, this "currency" still confuses me. It seems I must "pay" for the materials used in my studies. The price is high, as one might expect, if one was to expect a comedic outcome. A Galactic Commander, however, such as myself does not find this turn of events amusing.

The female, however, has shown sympathy and warmth to my new blight. I have not shirked on my duties as an art framer, pictures will follow.

I've come to realize that the student money given to the lowly individuals on this planet is in no way enough. Their government must be trying to get them in debt as soon as possible. Such vile tactics remind me of the Slaver Conglomerate, thankfully we were able to defeat that disgusting nation of debauchery in AD0001556000.

I was informed that I'd be able to increase my income by taking on customer works. The material fee would be paid by the customer, upon which I shall add my own fee. Onwards and upwards!

These frames are an absolute disgrace to the profession in which I'm studying undercover!

They were actually nailed onto the frames, what barbarian is responsible for this heresy?

Gentle righteous fury was used to free these paintings from their prison of sharp suffocation.

Away they go, may these mockeries of frames be forever damned.
